2014 Elections Campaign Training Day - Sutton

The CCA will be holding a Campaign Training Day for councillors and candidates standing for election in 2014. It will be held at Sutton & Cheam Conservative Association, Donnington House, 2A Sutton Court Road, Sutton, SM1 4SY. Planning Policy Seminar with Nick Boles MP

The CCA is holding a Planning policy seminar with Nick Boles MP at House of Commons to give councillors the opportunity to discuss planning issues with the Minister. This seminar is aimed at Planning Portfolio Holders and Shadow Portfolio Holders only. If they are unable to attend, the Group Leader can attend in their place. Any delegate must be a CCA member. Planning for Campaign 2014 - Gloucester

At this free event, we will be looking at creating a council-wide plan, as well as a strategy for individual candidates. The event will be led by Alan Mabbutt OBE, CCA Head of Local Government and Victoria Goff, CCA Local Government By-election Campaigner. Public Speaking Course for Councillors - Stage II

The CCA is holding an advanced Public Speaking Course for Councillors in conjunction with The Roe Project at CCHQ, London. Participants must have completed Stage I in order to attend. This advanced programme will develop the skills learnt in Stage I and give participants the opportunity to apply them to a variety of scenarios faced by councillors, including a debate/public meeting, media interviews and giving a speech. The training day costs £80, including lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Policy Briefing Session with the DCLG Team at Conference

This year's Policy Briefing Session with the DCLG Team which is kindly sponsored by the LGA Conservative Group will be held in Exchange 11, Manchester Central. This popular Q&A session will give councillors the chance to question members of the DCLG Ministerial Team including Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP and Party Vice Chairman for Local Government Bob Neill MP, as well as receive a policy briefing from the DCLG team on the year ahead.
