Post-Election Policy Seminar for Conservative Leaders 15th June 2012 10:30am Following this year’s local elections, the CCA and LGA Conservative Group have set up a meeting between Conservative Council Leaders and Bob Neill MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, and Baroness Hanham, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State. This is an opportunity for you to raise any questions you may have, to learn more about local government plans for the next year, and to engage with your colleagues.
Local Elections 2012 3rd May 2012 On Thursday 3rd May 2012, there will be 4722 seats up for election in England across 182 councils. On the same day there will be elections for all 32 Unitary Authorities in Scotland and for all 22 Unitary Authorities in Wales. The London Mayoral election and elections to the Greater London Authority will also be held on the same day.
Public Speaking Course for Councillors 16th March 2012 The CCA is holding a Public Speaking Course for Councillors in conjunction with The Roe Project at Coleshill Manor, Birmingham. The training course will look at how to deliver a presentation, how to make an impact and dealing with difficult questions. Attendance costs £80 which includes a sandwich lunch and refreshment breaks. The event is open to CCA members only.
Local Government Conference 2012 24th February 2012 The Local Government Conference 2012 will be taking place on Friday 24th - Saturday 25th February 2012 in Leeds. Full details will be circulated with the autumn copy of Input magazine.
Campaign Training Day 27th January 2012 The CCA will be holding a campaign training day at Coleshill Manor, Birmingham on 27th January. The day will consist of a series of presentations by experienced Conservative professional trainers and campaigners who have fought successful campaigns in a number of elections. Planning for Campaign 2012 13th December 2011 This event will be held at Coleshill Manor, Birmingham from 7pm to 9pm. The CCA is holding regional campaigning sessions for councillors and council candidates to help them prepare for Campaign 2012. The training session will be looking at creating a council-wide plan, as well as individual campaign strategies. The evening will be led by Alan Mabbutt, Head of Local Government and Kerry Buist, Campaign Specialist.

Policy Briefing Session 4th October 2011 This free Policy Briefing Session, designed especially for Conservative councillors, will take place on Tuesday 4th October at 12.45pm in Manchester Central. Members will be able to raise questions and discuss any concerns they may have with the parliamentary team including the Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, Bob Neill MP and Grant Shapps MP.
